Emily D. Hammes, DMD

Dr. Hammes was born and raised in South Carolina. She is a 1990 graduate of Columbia College. Dr. Hammes received her Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1994. She also completed an AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) residency program in St. Petersburg, Florida. She received her residency diploma from the University of Florida in 1995. After practicing in Westminster, South Carolina for a number of years, Dr. Hammes began associating with Oconee Dental Associates in 2008. She has a remarkable attribute for always putting her patients at ease regardless of the ongoing clinical procedures. Dr. Hammes, her husband Steven-also a dentist-and two sons reside in Anderson, South Carolina.

Rush Baker Caldwell, DMD MS

Dr. Rush-Baker Caldwell is a Greenville, South Carolina native who practices Orthodontics at Oconee Dental Associates. Dr. Caldwell graduated from Wofford College, and obtained his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the Medical University of South Carolina where he graduated at the top of his class. He obtained his orthodontic specialty training from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Caldwell has been associated at Oconee Dental Associates since 2010. He and his wife reside in Greenville, and are the proud parents of three sons and a daughter.

Taylor Vaughan

Taylor joined Oconee Dental Associates in 2010 after previously working in Greenville for Dr. Caldwell as an orthodontic assistant. She originally received her diploma from Greenville Technical College as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant. She maintained being on the Dean's list while in school and graduated with Honors in 2009. Since 2010, you may have seen her in the back working on orthodontic patients, or in the front checking out and checking in patients. Her goal as the office manager is to make sure that patients remain comfortable and happy at all times.

Taylor grew up in Mountain Rest but now currently lives in Westminster. She is married to Tyler and they have two kids, Jena-Kate and Miller. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her family on all sorts of adventures. They enjoy taking their bunch to Clemson football games, different restaurants, theme parks, and being on Lake Keowee during the summer.

Fun Fact: Taylor and her husband are Foster Parents.

Brittany Barnes

Brittany is from Westminster, South Carolina. She joined Oconee Dental Associates as our front desk coordinator in 2017. Brittany is passionate about making sure our patients feel welcome and comfortable from check in to check out, her goal is to help provide our patients with convenient scheduling options and the financial information they need to make their appointments seamless from start to finish.

Brittany has been married to her husband Sean for 9 years, and has two children, Canaan and Scarlett Claire, and a fur child, Delta. In her time away from the office she enjoys spending time with her family and adventuring.

Fun Fact: She also takes time to advocate for her son who has Autism and Cerebral Palsy and strives to bring awareness in our community to the needs of those who are differently able.

Kayla Mallory

Kayla was born and raised in Georgia and currently resides in Toccoa. She began her career at Oconee Dental Associates in 2018, as a dental assistant. She graduated first in her class at the Dental Career Institute. She believes that going to work every day holds something new and is another opportunity to ensure our patients feel comfortable and happy. She has two sassy boys, Cade and Huxley, who keep life interesting and exciting. She enjoys spending free time making spontaneous trips with her family.

Fun Fact: She has had the chicken pox… TWICE!

Terri Bass

Terri has been a registered dental hygienist for 37 years. She joined this practice in 1991 when she moved to the Upstate from Florida. She enjoys getting to know her patients and their families. She aspires to provide her patients with excellent dental treatment as she educates them on ways to maintain and improve good oral health.

Terri and her husband have two grown children and two grandchildren of whom she is very proud. She loves the Upstate of South Carolina and enjoys visiting the waterfalls, boating, traveling, and most of all spending time with family.

Fun Fact: Every year Terri and her family bike 34 miles on the Virginia Creeper Trail

Vonda Davis

Vonda Kay Davis has been a dental assistant for 13 years, but she joined Oconee Dental Associates in 2007. She grew up in Clemson and still resides there today. Vonda has a daughter, Amethyst, who is an actress in Atlanta, Georgia. Vonda also has a cat named Gracie. For fun, she loves to listen to live bands, watch comedy shows, and spend her Thursdays at Jazz On The Alley.

Fun Fact: Her Grandmother named her after Miss America 1965, Vonda Kay Van Dyke.

Rochell Porcher

Originally from North Augusta, SC, Rochell started her career as dental assistant and then furthered her education with a degree in dental hygiene. She has worked in different branches of dentistry, but dental hygiene is her passion. Her goal is to educate patients on oral health being paramount to overall wellness throughout their lifetime. Rochell works part time, which gives her more time for "anything" outdoors. She likes to fish, camp, rescue/care for animals, and presently renovating her house.

Fun Fact: Rochell moved to Oconee County, because as a child she use to visit our mountains, lakes, and waterfalls.

Christy Nelson

Christy graduated dental hygiene school from Greenville Technical College in May of 1999. She started with Oconee Dental Associates in July of 2000. Christy grew up in Powdersville and still lives there today. She resides at her home with her two fur babies Tinky and Cricket. In her free time she enjoys camping, fishing, biking, hiking, kayaking, and listening to her musically talented friends perform. Most recently, she has taken an interest in deer hunting.

Fun Fact: Christy was born on her brothers birthday.

Toni Watkins

Toni graduated from Dental Assisting School in 2014 from Tri- County Technical College. She started at Oconee Dental Associates in September of 2016. Toni originally began at Oconee Dental Associates working at the front desk, but realized her heart belonged to dental assisting. When not at work, the weekends are normally really busy for her family. She and her husband, Tyler, are currently remodeling and updating their house. She enjoys throwing get-togethers for her family and friends, and when the weather is nice she enjoys spending time at the lake on their boat. She loves to travel and experience new places and things, spending any extra time together as a family. Toni's number one pride and joy is her daughter, Emaline. She also has two dogs Jasper and Sawyer.

Fun Fact: She and her husband, Tyler, met at Subway.
